Triumph Motorcycles – “The Wild One”
You have heard all about the great Harley motorcycles and paid through the teeth for them for years, but have you heard of the English Triumph Motorcycles? This is the oldest motorcycle company in England and some say one of the best in the world. Movie stars like Marlon Brando road the Triumph Thunderbird. This motorcycle was featured in the movie “The Wild One” staring a young Marlon Brando. That added a little Hollywood magic to the Triumph name. It came to stand for freedom, rebellion and just plain coolness to many bikers.
Though Triumph is the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in Britain, it changed owners in 1983 when Triumph Engineering Co. LTD came on hard times. John Bloor bought the name and manufacturing rights and gave the Triumph name a new birth and lease on life. He took his time redesigning and upgrading existing models and getting new models ready for introduction to the motorcycle world. In 1991 Bloor and his team got financing to build a big 10 acre manufacturing plant in Britain and the company was reborn with improved 750cc and 900cc triple engines and the 1000cc and 1200cc 4 cylinder units. The spirit of the Triumph motorcycles soared again.
Triumph motorcycles are designed to be filled with character and passion along with superior engineering. The classic models and new state of the art models both boasted the new improved engines and other parts. Their strategy of specializing in 3 cylinder bikes made them a niche between American and Japanese 4 cylinder bikes so they would always have their fair market share of sales. The rest is history.
If you are tired of the Harley experience and want something more distinctive, but in the same price range, give Triumph a try. Triumph motorcycles are known for creating a great riding experience on unique motorcycles with distinctive looks, intelligent design and great performance records. You can still get the classic models like the Thunderbird with the newest engineering hidden under the hood, or you can get ultra modern, cutting edge models to ride into the future. The pricing is surprisingly competitive with similar models of the major motorcycle manufacturers in America or Japan.
