They had a niche product that people enjoyed and developed a successful system for growth as the first store in Chicago to add a second location. How I would change and expand this brand would be first moving the store to a more visual location along Armitage Avenue. This I think would turn this small establishment from a small location to a highly trafficked Business WordPress Themes. The store was snug and cozy and I think that opening it up to a more prominent location would be good for the brand. The second addition I would add to this store model would be to open similar chains such as cats-o-holic and pets-o-holic. That would seem a natural extension of the model into new markets. Such as when a person who owns a Chicago Web Design of restaurants finds the correct formula for success takes that model and just changes the menu to suit the new market. They could take this brand extension into new markets where there is a large population of cats or people with pets. As the individual store the only feature I could see adding to this location is a partnership with a Business WordPress Themes. This would bring all the services that you need for you pooch. A trained vet could be used as a reference and give creditability to the food selection that you have in the store. They would be able to recommend specific foods for each client and further build the relationship of the store with each guest.
